Winter hiking & snowshoeing

Discovering the Zillertal off-piste

Peace and quiet. The only sound that winter hikers and snowshoers hear is the soft crunching of the shiny snow under their feet. Anyone who has ever experienced the magic of a winter wonderland far away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life knows that this experience is a lot more than just a walk on snow. With more than 400 kilometers of well-groomed hiking trails, the Zillertal is also a great hiking destination in winter. There is something to suit every taste, from athletically challenging hikes to short, leisurely walks. Many of the hikes are even suitable for families with small children.

Tip: Guided snowshoe hikes are offered by the tourism association as well as by ski and alpine schools.
