It’s not just the many family-friendly ski pistes that make a winter holiday in Zillertal an unforgettable experience! Numerous highlights off the pistes, such as toboggan runsice rinks, and water fun in the Erlebnistherme Zillertal, also provide plenty of adventure and action for children of all ages!

Family-Friendly Ski Resort Spieljoch

Pistes for the entire family, an action-packed toboggan run, a winter hiking trail, and cozy huts are all waiting to be discovered at the Spieljoch. The magic carpet and beginner’s lift offer your little ones the perfect conditions for taking their first turns on skis. Snow pros will also get their money’s worth, however. The race course at the Onkeljochlift, Zillertal’s longest valley run that can be maintained with artificial snow, the Funslope, and the Funpark all guarantee an action-packed day.

Ice Rink & Airparc Kabooom

The Kabooom Leisure Centre in Kaltenbach is THE place to be for fun and action. After lively hours of skiing, the best thing to do is to unpack your ice skates. Enjoy gliding on the 580 m2 ice rink; it’s pure bliss! A glass of tea or mulled wine from the "Booomeria" Restaurant is a romantic way to finish off a winter day. And if the weather isn’t ideal for skiing, ice skating in the Zillertal is an awesome alternative.

At Kabooom’s indoor and outdoor areas, visitors of all ages can let off some steam trying various fun & action sports. A big highlight at the Leisure Centre is Tyrol’s biggest Airparc.

Gerlosstein Toboggan Run  

Winter holidays in the Tyrolean ZIllertal wouldn't be complete without some tobogganing followed by a hearty meal in one of the huts! The ski pistes aren’t your only sporting option; there’s also the longest toboggan run in the Zillertal. The Gerlossteinbahn above the village of Zell am Ziller brings you quickly and comfortably to the start of the 7-kilometer-long toboggan run at 1650 meters above sea level. It’s even illuminated at night until 1:00 a.m. 

Tip: Adventure Mountain Gerlosstein has more to offer than tobogganing. Walk along the Almpromenade Educational Trail to learn about the history and culture of the Zillertal at the lovingly designed stations.

Arena Coaster – The Alpine Rollercoaster in the Zillertal

The Arena Coaster is not just for kids! Fun, action, and high speeds await at the Rosenalmbahn Valley Station in Zell am Ziller. The 1,450-meter-long rollercoaster has lots of wavessteep turns, and jumps, and is the year-round highlight for young and old. Its 360- and 540-degree loops will really get your adrenaline pumping.

AlbertAdler Tour on Mount Ahorn 

Mascot AlbertAdler wants you to join him for a downhill ride that has easy and fun obstacles. The AlbertAdler Speed Camera takes a photo of your downhill ride, which you can download for free at the lift’s Valley Station.

Tip: The WhiteLounge SchneeBar, which serves up delicious drinks, cool lounge music, and fantastic views of the surrounding mountains, is the perfect place to unwind at the end of the day.

Winter Magic Ginzling: Action & Genuss in the Mountaineering Village

You’re spoilt for choice in this winter wonderland, far away from the hustle and bustle. Whether it’s tobogganingsnow tubing, trying a ski toursnowshoe hikingcross-country skiing, or taking yourfirst turns on skis at the beginner’s lift, plenty of possibilities await young and old alike in the mountaineering village of Ginzling!

Nature Ice Palace at the Hintertux Glacier

The Nature Ice Palace is unique in the world and makes for a great day trip for the entire family. You can marvel at magical ice stalactites, giant sparkling ice crystals, frozen waterfalls, and even a glacial lake. The temperature in the Nature Ice Palace is a constant 0° Celsius 365 days a year. The Ice Cave is open year round regardless of the weather. We recommend that you combine your trip to the Nature Ice Palace with a day of skiing at the Hintertux Glacier or a visit tothe Panorama Terrace.

Capella Granata at the Penkenjoch

The leisurely Penken Winter Hiking Trail begins at the Finkenberger Almbahnen Mountain Station. You’ll walk along the Penkenjoch Reservoir, past the impressive Capella Granata, over to the Kombibahn Penken Mountain Station, and back again. The Penkenjoch, with its breathtaking panoramic views of various parts of the Zillertal, is a must-see for the entire family!
